Amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, increasing pressure on energy security, and the accelerating transition towards low-carbon systems, the efficient utilization and resilient operation of energy networks have become key priorities. Existing infrastructures are being pushed to their limits, while new demands arise from the integration of renewable sources, electrification, and decentralized energy resources.
Under the theme “Network Modelling: Grid Utilization Efficiency and Risk Management, Sharing and Optimization”, this year’s Energy Days workshop highlights the crucial role of mathematical modelling, statistical methods, and computational approaches in addressing these challenges. Building on a strong tradition of collaboration between mathematicians, statisticians, and engineers, the workshop creates a space where theoretical advances meet practical needs of the energy sector.
The workshop provides a platform for researchers, industry representatives, and practitioners to exchange insights on current challenges and innovative solutions in the modelling and operation of complex energy systems. Particular attention is given to methods that enable more efficient use of grid capacity, support energy sharing mechanisms, and improve risk assessment and decision-making under uncertainty.
The event traditionally hosts invited speakers from abroad, bringing diverse perspectives and fostering international exchange of knowledge and experience.
Key topics include, but are not limited to:
The workshop aims to foster dialogue between academia and industry, support knowledge transfer, and contribute to the development of robust and efficient energy infrastructures.
A round table discussion with introductory talks by leading representatives of the Czech energy sector, together with invited European experts, will form an integral part of the programme. The discussion will be held in both Czech and English, with interpretation provided.
The expected outcome of the workshop is the exchange of up-to-date knowledge between research and practice, as well as the identification of new research directions reflecting the evolving needs of the energy sector.
